Creamy. Dairy-free. Unexpectedly perfect.

The 53% Unmilk’d Chocolate Bar reimagines milk chocolate without the milk. In its place: Lucuma — the ancient Peruvian "Gold of the Incas" — a naturally sweet, caramel-like fruit that has been treasured in the Andes for centuries. Paired with ceremonial-grade cacao from the Tropical Desert of Northwestern Peru, cacao nibs for texture, and a touch of sea salt, this bar delivers the smooth, velvety experience of milk chocolate in a form that’s entirely plant-based.

No dairy. No compromise. Just a deeply satisfying chocolate bar rooted in Peruvian tradition.

Tasting Notes

Smooth and creamy with a natural caramel sweetness from Lucuma, balanced by the earthy depth of single-origin cacao, a gentle crunch of nibs, and a whisper of sea salt.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Are your products ethically sourced?

Yes. Ethical sourcing is central to everything we do at Cacao Voyage. We source directly from Panamanian cacao farmers and are proud supporters of Survivor-Led Solutions (SLS), a nonprofit organization that ensures authentic survivor representation in all decision-making processes.

Is this a good bar for someone new to artisan chocolate?

Absolutely — this is a wonderful introduction to artisan chocolate. Unlike mass-produced bars, single-origin cacao is carefully fermented and dried at the source, which brings out naturally complex flavors without any artificial additives. You'll notice layers of taste that evolve as the chocolate melts, which is part of what makes bean-to-bar chocolate so special. If you're curious about where your food comes from and how craft makes a difference, this bar is a great place to start your journey.

Does this bar contain any allergens?

Please review the ingredient list carefully before purchasing. While this bar may not contain certain allergens as direct ingredients, it is produced in a facility that also processes common allergens, including tree nuts, dairy, soy, and others. As a result, cross-contact is possible and cannot be guaranteed against. If you have a severe allergy or sensitivity, we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before consuming this product.

Does the flavor change as it melts?

Yes — and that's one of the most exciting things about craft chocolate. As the bar slowly melts on your tongue, different flavor notes reveal themselves in stages. You might notice a bright, fruity top note first, followed by deeper earthy or nutty undertones, and a long, clean finish. We recommend breaking off a small piece, letting it sit on your tongue, and resisting the urge to chew — you'll be surprised how much the flavor evolves.

An Introduction to Cacao Adventures

Cacao Adventures begins in the Peruvian Amazon — with wild cacao, ancestral communities, and a family that walks the same forest paths year after year. This is not sourcing. This is stewardship..

About Cacao Adventures

Cacao Adventures is a family project born between San Diego and the Peruvian Amazon — and that duality is exactly what makes it remarkable. Every year, the family returns to the same jungle communities, walking the same forest paths, visiting the same families, and personally overseeing the fermentation and drying of each small batch. This isn't a supply chain. It's a relationship.

They work exclusively with wild and single-origin cacao, sourced directly from Awajún communities whose ancestral practices have shaped these forests for generations. Batches are kept deliberately small so every bag remains traceable to a specific harvest and community — never blended into anonymity, never treated as a commodity.

We carry Cacao Adventures because their model is what ethical sourcing actually looks like in practice: long-term, personal, and rooted in place. When you choose one of their products, you're supporting a family that has staked its livelihood on doing this right.

Wild and Single-Origin

Every batch traces back to specific harvests and communities in the Peruvian jungle — never anonymous bulk cacao, always small-batch and fully traceable.

A Family Project, Not a Brand

Rooted between San Diego and the Peruvian jungle, the team returns every year to walk the same paths, visit the same families, and personally oversee fermentation and drying — batch by batch.

Long-Term Community Partnerships

Cacao Adventures builds lasting relationships with the families who care for these forests — paying fair prices, planning harvests together, and keeping cacao a living tradition rather than a short-term commodity.
